BIG congratulations to niftygifties who was promoted to assistant regional manager this week!!!!! way to go everyone should send over a big high five!!!!!

Tasks:

There outa be a word task: congrats to konamouse from eliziabeth who took the top with copyblocked. An additional shout out to chchchelsea fot being our branch winner!!!!

Buy out:

I think we all have opininos on this task. The sb's were great but it took so long......and people were jerks. I did find a lower ration of burns when you used a dirty/suggestive opening line. My favorites were "i've been told I'm a good merge, lets do it!" and " I like my negotions like i like my men, in and out quickly, lets merge!"

Casual Friday: Seems like a classic game of paperdolls, get creative :)

The Forum:

What I learned this week:

1. No one really likes the buy out task at all!!!!

2. Alice cooper makes papertiger44 feel like summertime.....

3. mmclark would rather lick a triathletes foot with athletes foot, then an nyc sidewalk

4. Camp Canton is worth resurrecting and may save me from an entire summer having to interact with the general public :)

5. Clem thinks that we don't talk enough...I agree

Featured employee of the week: mmclark (this one of my most amusing ones to read thus far)

MOST COMMON NAME USED: Michele

NICKNAMES: My mom and childhood friends called me 'Chele...

GENDER: female

BIRTH DATE: Dec. 16

ZODIAC SIGN: Sag.

PETS: 2 cats - Coffee and Tea (named by my father in law)

ONE RANDOM FACT ABOUT YOU NOT MANY PEOPLE KNOW: I am pretty open, so if you know me you pretty much know it all.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF PSYCHICS?: I think it would be awesome if they were real, and I would love for someone to prove to me that they do.

WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU THINK OF IN THE MORNING?: How much I don't want to get up, lol...

PIERCINGS, TATTOOS, or SCARS?: Long scars down both legs.

INTERESTING STORIES THAT ACCOMPANY SCARS: I had terrible knees most of my life - 2 or 3 times a week my knee caps would slide out of position and I would fall. Crossing streets, down stairs, while pregnant - it sucked. So after my second son turned a year old I had some pretty major reconstructive surgery on both legs (at the same time) and I spent a week in the hospital and two in a nursing home. The nursing home was a blast! I was the 'young 'un' and I raced my wheelchair around the hallways and taught the old ladies how to crochet.... :0)

SUMMER OR WINTER? Fall

GOLD OR SILVER? silver

PICK A SONG THAT DESCRIBES YOU: I wish I were a Punk Rocker with Flowers in my Hair (Sandy Thom, I think?)

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF A BEAR ATTACKED YOU & BROUGHT YOU BACK TO HIS CAVE? Tidy up the cave - maybe add some flowers or curtains. :0)
!

!!WORD ASSOCIATION!!!!

PLANET: Green

GREEN: Grass

DRIP: Water?

...COLOGNE? none

...PERFUME? Body Shop Ananya

...MOVIE(S)? Anything silly & fun. Will Ferrell, Super Troopers... Also, musicals - new or old.

...QUOTE FROM A MOVIE? Oh this is impossible. My husband and I speak to each other in movie quotes all day long, and if you are on Facebook you may have already seen my movie quote of the day game! (Currently on hiatus because I've been busy...)

...QUOTE? Oh let's go with my yearbook quote: Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking isn't thinking of (They Might Be Giants)

...HOLIDAY? Halloween!

...FLOWER? Daisy, Lilac, or hydrangea

...COLOR? green.

...LOVE SONG? Again, there are lots that I love. Our wedding song was Taking you Home by Don Henley and I sang my kids to sleep with In My Life by the Beatles when they were babies. That's probably as good as it gets!

...Smurf? I love all Smurfs. I could no sooner choose a favorite Smurf than a favorite between my kids. When I was little I wanted to grow up to BE a Smurf. Last week I put little ceramic mushrooms in my garden because they looked like Smurf huts.

~RANDOM QUESTIONS~

WHAT DO YOU WEAR TO BED? A tshirt and underwear

IF YOU COULD MAKE OUT WITH ANYONE IN THE WORLD WHO WOULD IT BE? Hubby, of course! Or the guy I dated when I was 16, mmmmm :0)

Before that I think I reread LotR and Harry Potter (which I read at least once a year...) Also read Farmer Boy (Laura Ingalls) and The Secret Garden (Frances Hodgson Burnett) with my kids.

IF ONE SINGER/SONGWRITER/ARTIST HAD TO WRITE THE SOUNDTRACK TO YOUR LIFE, WHO WOULD YOU WANT TO DO IT AND WHY? Josh Radin. I could sing along all day and it always makes me happy.

DO YOU TEXT & DRIVE? I don't text ever. It annoys me. If you have something to say to me just call me.

DO YOU HAVE A LAVA LAMP? Not since I was a kid.

CAN YOU TOUCH YOUR NOSE WITH YOUR TONGUE? Nope.

DID YOU JUST TRY TO TOUCH YOUR NOSE WITH YOUR TONGUE? No, because I BIT THROUGH my tongue last week wrestling and it still hurts!!

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN CONVICTED OF A CRIME? Nope.

HAVE YOU EVER COMMITED A CRIME THAT YOU WEREN'T CONVICTED OF? Random, very minor things when I was 15 or so.

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN SKINNY DIPPING? :0) Of course.

WHAT'S YOUR CELL PHONE RINGTONE The Office! (for hubby). And different songs assigned to other people. I need to update them actually.

IS THE GLASS HALF EMPTY OR HALF FULL? Isn't it just half?

WHICH THE OFFICE CHARACTER ARE YOU MOST LIKE AND WHY? Michael, I think. I tend to be silly more than is necessary, not everybody gets me, but I care for my people, and when I need to be good at something, I can usually pull through.

To those others that have sent over survey's don't fret i'll get you up here soon!!!! Anyone else interested please email me at shollingsworth@secofurniture.com. i also wouldn't mind having a couple coorespondance writers...think Clark Kent or Louis lane...it makes it sound like a cooler thing to do :)

Recipe of the week:{submitted by NiftyGifties!!!! Thanks so much!! :) }

Gnocchi with Spinach and GorgonzolaIngredients
2 packages gnocchi (17 ounces each)
Salt
3/4 cup walnut halves, roughly chopped
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
4 large cloves garlic, grated
2 boxes frozen chopped spinach (10 ounces each), defrosted
Freshly ground black pepper
1/2 pound Gorgonzola crumbles
1 cup chicken or vegetable stock
Preparation
Bring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat to cook the gnocchi. Once boiling, add some salt and the gnocchi, and cook according to package directions.
Place a small skillet over medium heat with the chopped walnuts. Toast the nuts, tossing them frequently in the pan until they are golden brown and smell toasted.
Remove from the heat and reserve.
While the water is coming up to a boil and the nuts are toasting, place a medium size skillet with EVOO over low heat. Grate the garlic over the pan and gently cook in the EVOO for a minute or two, shaking the skillet every now and then. Add the spinach and toss to combine with the EVOO, then season with a little bit of salt and a lot of pepper. Add the chicken stock and bring up to a bubble. Once the stock is simmering, add the gorgonzola crumbles and toss until the cheese is nice and melted.
Add the gnocchi to the skillet and toss to coat.
Ladle gnocchi into serving bowls, sprinkle with the toasted chopped walnuts and serve.
*Note- I leave the walnuts out, but that's a personal preference. Also- it makes a lot, which is good as a main dish. If we have it at my house for just the 3 of us, we usually halve the recipe.
